Booking Your Appointment for the Sproochentest Exam: Everything You Need to Know
Ready to take the next step towards Luxembourgish citizenship? One of the key requirements is passing the Sproochentest, which tests your knowledge of Luxembourgish. The process starts with booking your appointment at the Institut National des Langues (INL) Luxembourg. This guide will walk you through each step so you can navigate it easily.
Step 1: Pay the Registration Fee
First things first, you need to pay the registration fee of €75. You can do this by using the following bank account details:
Step 2: Gather Your Application Documents
Once you've made the payment, it's time to gather the necessary documents:
The following documents can be used as your ID:
Step 3: Submit Your Application to INL
Once you have your documents ready, submit them either in person or by mail to the INL Luxembourg. Make sure everything is complete—only complete applications are processed, so double-check that you have all your documents.
Note: If you or someone you know has a disability, INL is ready to support you by providing special equipment or personnel if needed. Just include an official document from a medical authority when you submit your application, and they’ll make sure you have the support you need.
Step 4: Registration Process
Registrations are handled on a first-come, first-served basis. The earlier you send in your documents, the better your chances of securing a spot for an upcoming exam session. If there are no available spots, you'll get priority for the next session.
Step 5: Wait for Confirmation
Once your application is submitted, you’ll receive a letter with the exact date and time of your exam at least 15 days beforehand. Be sure to follow the schedule provided, as missing your time slot means you’ll need to start the process over again.
Rescheduling & Cancellation Policy
After your exam is scheduled, it’s generally not possible to change the date. If you have a serious reason for needing to reschedule, contact INL directly—they may consider exceptions, but keep in mind that it will require paying the registration fee again.
If you decide to withdraw from the exam or if you miss your scheduled time, you’ll need to register for the next available session and go through the process again.
Important Note: No Limits on Attempts
Good news! There’s no limit on how many times you can take the exam. If things don’t go as planned the first time, don’t worry—you can always try again. Just remember that you can only re-register once you’ve received the results of your previous attempt.
And that’s it! You’re well on your way to achieving your goal. Soon enough, you could be telling your story—in Luxembourgish!
