What Costs Can Be Reimbursed?

- The registration fee of €75 for the Sproochentest exam which you pay to the Institut National des Langues (INL) Luxembourg is reimbursable if you pass the exam.
2.Introductory Language Course in Luxembourgish
- If you’re applying for nationality by option and have lived in Luxembourg for at least 20 years, you can claim up to €750 for an introductory course (minimum 24 hours) of the Luxembourgish language focusing on oral expression and comprehension.
Or Additional Luxembourgish Language Classes
- If you’re applying for nationality by naturalisation, you can also be reimbursed up to €750 for approved Luxembourgish language classes which you have attended before submitting your naturalisation or declaration request after passing the Sproochentest exam.
How to Apply for Reimbursement
You can get your expenses reimbursed by following these steps:
1.Fill in the Form
- Use the official reimbursement request form, available from the office in charge of Luxembourgish nationality (Service de la nationalité luxembourgeoise) at the Ministry of Justice.
2.Prepare Your Documents
- For the Sproochentest exam reimbursement: Include a receipt from the INL or other proof of payment (e.g., bank transfer or deposit slip).
- For Luxembourgish language courses: Provide one or more receipts from the approved training provider. Make sure these documents clearly show the number of hours attended and the total amount paid.
3.Submit Your Request
- The form, duly filled in and signed, together with all the relevant documents should be submitted to the Ministry of Justice at the address given in the header of the form only after you’ve filed your application for Luxembourg nationality with the civil registrar of your commune.

How to Apply for Subsidies
Here are the steps to apply for reimbursement:
1.Complete the Application Form
- Download the official form and provide the required details. This includes the company’s contact information, a description of the training project, and a detailed breakdown of the costs.
2.Attach Supporting Documents
- Copies of paid invoices with proof of payment.
- A certificate confirming that the project does not receive any other public co-funding.
- Attendance sheets signed by participants and the training provider.
3.Submit Your Application
- Send the completed form and all supporting documents to the Ministry of Labour either by email or by delivering them in person. Make sure to do this by 22 December of the current year.
4.Receive Confirmation
- Once your application is received, you’ll get an acknowledgment of receipt. If any documents are missing, the Ministry will let you know.
